EEC is presently inviting application for a FULL-TIME, ONE YEAR CONTRACT POSITION:
Conservation & Marketing Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Essex Energy team, the successful candidate will integrate with coworkers to provide peers with useful market intelligence, research, and customer feedback as it relates to conservation and the electricity sector. This position requires a candidate to interact directly with various levels of management within the organization as well as clients and electricity customers in order to communicate our broad offering of energy sector initiatives. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable to change, customer focused and can develop tools, ideas and media that the company can use to service its client base as well as keep customers aware and engaged about energy conservation.
As a member of the Essex Energy team, the successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Meet with various customers and articulate the conservation programs that are being offered;
  • Understand, review and process various Conservation Program applications to completion;
  • Assist and/or lead in the completion of proposals;
  • Develop strong relationships with existing and prospective clients and customers;
  • Responsible for writing clear, compelling and persuasive communications for all audiences, and developing cross-medium platforms in which to tell these stories. Understands how to tailor different materials for distinct audiences, and will be able to quickly and effectively develop multi-media materials including printed publications, HTML publications, video material, proposals, PowerPoint presentations and more. Able to recommend the right tactic to achieve desired results;
  • Identify emerging digital communications opportunities, trends and tools to enhance the overall digital experience;
  • Must be able to learn and understand complexities within the Ontario energy market;
  • Consult with various department managers and corporate leaders to identify their communication needs, issues and requirements and objectives in order to plan, develop and provide them with greater visibility and understanding of their message, products and services;
  • Develop strong relationships with local, national and trade media to ensure consistent coverage of corporate initiatives;
  • Manage the ongoing quality control of company website and initiatives for content updates;
  • Measure and evaluate efficacy of communication activities and adjusts/reinforces as necessary to meet goals and objectives.
  • Additional duties as required;

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business/Marketing or Environmental Science
• 2-5 years of industry experience (or related preferred)
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated capability in technical/business writing
• Ability to learn and quickly expand knowledge of energy market
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Ability to work flexible hours with possibility of occasional overnight travel to various destinations
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Additional Qualifications for this Position but not required include:

• Website development experience considered an asset
• Technical and/or service-oriented background in facilities management, energy management systems, energy consulting, electrical/natural gas contract management
